Because you’re more likely to stay indoors with people in central heating, you can catch a virus with more people contact. To reduce the chances of contracting a virus, wash your hands with soap and water.
It’s a trap! You’re more likely to stay indoors next to the pantry while getting less exercise. This leads to possible weight gain. Large meals occur more during winter due to holiday gatherings, potlucks, and events.
Dry skin can occur due to winter weather. During this time, it’s cold with low humidity, which can dehydrate your skin, causing it to look dull. Make sure to drink your recommended intake of water. Your body weight divided by 2 in ounces is the recommended intake. For most, it’s about 8 cups a day, or 64 ounces.
Winter is a time of joy for many people, but it also can bring “winter blues.” Another term for this phenomenon is seasonal affective disorder. Depending on where you are, winter can be brutal. You are less likely to go outside and make plans because of any weather-related disturbances such as snow or sleet. Also, some people may experience loneliness because they are used to having their friends or family gathering. Still, it can be a trigger if winter meant losing a loved one.
